Experimental Design: Completed!

Experimental Design – the second of four events during the Process of Assimilation mega-event – has concluded. Captains sent the majority of their to support Section 31 after learning that the Borg were trying to acquire transphasic torpedo technology being secretly developed by Section 31. As a result, Dr. Tolian Soran was able to develop a working prototype for transphasic torpedos that will enable Starfleet to have a fighting chance against the Borg. As a man who lost his family to the Collective, he will work tirelessly to destroy the Borg threat.

Congratulations to everyone for helping to stop the Borg from acquiring this dangerous technology!

Rewards

{nWo} Bastion topped the solo leaderboard this week with 1,339,249 victory points (VP) during the Experimental Design event. {nWo} Bastion earned multiple Assimilated Tuvoks by hitting the 3,000, 18,000, and 120,000 VP thresholds as well as the Borg Queen for hitting the 20,000 VP threshold. Captains who participated in Experimental Design collectively earned 1,640,003,391 VP and won 75,207 Assimilated Tuvoks and 22,132 Borg Queens.

Below are the top 10 solo players and squadrons who earned the most VP during Experimental Design:

We hope you enjoyed Experimental Design and look forward to your help to save the Alpha Quadrant from the relentless threat of the Borg in our next event, Contagion!

Next Event: Contagion

In the upcoming Hybrid-Faction-Galaxy event, Contagion, Captains receive reports from the Augments stating that some of their children are being born with Borg implants. If the Borg have devised a way to assimilate individuals before they are even born, there is no telling just how many populations could be affected. Starfleet must find a way to counteract this new threat before future generations are lost to the Collective.

To prepare for the event, Captains should level their Arik Soong, La Forges, Borg Queen, and all other Borg crew as they will receive bonuses while performing in Contagion.

How can you resist?

Contagion starts this Thursday, May 18th.

With there be an overarching Mega-Event wrap up summary (even if its not the ranks, etc) to summarize the plot points of the whole shebang? I personally would love it if so. You’ve been addressing one of the things that has irritated me the most in the 1st quarter of 2017, and that is the lack of coherent plotline. I do appreciate the effort that has been put here to tell a story with the game.

Being born with Borg implants?

How is that even possible? (Interesting idea though).

Also, congrats to Bastion and the other players and squadrons in the top 10, amazing efforts!

Thanks, Shan, for the recap!  I’m also appreciating the more full spectrum communication on events smile

Presumably, Borg nanites in the bloodstream of the mother could make their way into the fetus, at which point they could begin the process of pre-assimilation.

Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.

Have to admit, I am surprised that 75,000 people managed to get at least one Tuvok, yet only 22,000 persevered to reach the 2nd free Borg Queen. If free 5* characters won’t make people work (not even that hard) on this game then god knows what will!

She didn’t say 75k people got Tuvok, she said that 75k Tuvoks were gotten.  That would include multiples, where the same person got 2 or 3 (in fact, for the math to work, most people who got any Tuvok got 3).

What I’m curious about is whether that Tuvok count is just those awarded through Threshold rewards, or included pack purchases?

So storywise:

- Borg assimilated babies are put in maturation chambers, so why would the Borg want partially or completely assimilated newborns left in care of their parents?

- how are they infected? If their mothers are infected why aren’t they showing signs of assimilation?

And the one thing that’s been bothering me the most. If the Borg Queen is overseeing assimilation in this event and has taken over DBs tweets etc., then why is there a copy of her on everyone’s ship helping prevent just that?

No need for packs there was one Tuvok below the Queen. (Only one?)
So let us say 35k got 1st Tuvok then 22k got queen leaving maybe 21k for 2nd Tuvok followed by 19k for last. But anyhow something on that order.

It was Two tuvoks below Queen he mentions the thresholds.
So say 34k got 1st, 28k got 2nd ,now queen, and then 12k got 3rd.

Need to remember than one next time someone complains about Voyager’s shuttle and photon torpedoes count cheese

I’m fine with it but with DB saying how they’ve invested more in the story I thought I’d nitpick a bit.
