The Hirogen dude Donik from the Voyager episode “Flesh and Blood”. I thought he would have stayed because he felt comfortable and helped enhanced Voyager’s sensor systems. Since Hirogens had good tracker abilities and Voyager did not I wonder how things would be played out if Donik stayed. I bet we would could see some pretty interesting technological benefits from Donik in what he could bring to ship’s crew. Another character is Hugh the Borg is what would interesting to see what things would be like if Hugh Borg stayed instead of returning to the Borg Collective. I think the timeline for the events of Star Trek: First Contact would have been sped up a bit maybe happening sooner rather than later. Those are two characters that top my brain at the moment that present some interesting “what if” questions to me.

One of the most unique characters that I found interesting was the Denobulan Dr. Phlox who was the medical officer aboard the NX-01 Enterprise. He was always full of surprises. I think his character was one of the best of any alien ever portrayed on any of the Star Trek series and movies. I particularly liked his affinity for exotic pets.

Hopefully we will see him and more of his species in the game of Timelines when it is released.

Y’all know already that I’m a major GUINAN fan. In terms of skills and attributes, she’s unique in the Trek universe. Her potential as a character was never sufficiently tapped, imo (but Whoopi G was commanding big bucks even then).

There was a great trifecta played by Brad Dourif (an actor the Trek folks plugged in a number of times in various ways). He played Lon Suder, a brilliant Betazoid sociopath. He’d be a fascinating NPC but I wouldn’t have him on my crew. wink

Beside the main stars of all the ST crews of all the shows which I loved all those characters, Guinan is right up there as a very interesting character. Glad Dr. Toby Russell from the TNG episode “Ethics” was mentioned in the latest dev blog because she was fascinating as well which I totally forgot about her. Also Dr. Leah Brahms from the Theoretical Propulsion Group. Dr. Brahms was in two TNG episodes which in one episode Geordi interacted with a hologram version of Dr. Brahms on TNG episode: “Booby Trap”. Dr. Leah Brahms was a very cool person in my opinion. Khan since he is like my favorite major character villain that crossed from TOS show to into movies in Star Trek II. If you want to count this, Moriarty was pretty cool also especially in TNG:“Ship in a Bottle”. Okay some others like Captain Morgan Bateson (played by Kelsey Grammar) of the USS Bozeman in TNG: “Cause and Effect”, Kuros of the Think Tank Voyager episode, Crewman Daniels from Ent, of course Shran and Weyoun (among many characters played by Jeffrey Combs), Berlinghoff Rasmussen from TNG: “Matter of Time, John Frederick Paxton of the Terra Prime movement from ENT: “Demons” & “Terra Prime”, Sarek from TOS, Gary Mitchell from TOS: “Where No Man Has Gone Before”, Ambassador Soval from Ent, Lwaxana Troi (played by Mrs. Roddenberry herself and Nurse Chapel of TOS fame), Commodore Matt Decker from TOS:“The Doomsday Machine”, Captain Erika Hernandez of the Columbia on ENT, Commander Shelby from TNG two part episode “The Best of Both Worlds”, Captain Lorian that was Trip Tucker and T’Pol’s son in an alternative timeline in ENT:“E2”, Arik Soong from ENT, Captain Phillipa Louvois/JAG officer from TNG:“The Measure of a Man”, also from TNG:“The Measure of a Man” Commander Bruce Maddox that was a cybernetics expert/associate chair of robotics from the Daystrom Institute, Reginald Barclay from TNG, etc.

Good day, Shan!

I can’t even start to name characters but I think that, above all things, please please make sure that there is an equivalent amount of FEMALE characters.  So many times in games, the women of the series are treated like a token, thrown in here and there, but barely an excuse for anything diverse or representative.  Please make sure that the strong, daring, bright, and beautiful women of Star Trek are included in this game!

Interesting shortlist in the dev blog of Dr. Toby Russell, Leck and Dejaren. Thanks in part of that I have considered them as high recommended characters for my crew. Love to hear more of other characters on the shortlist that are interesting or should I say recommended characters as I think ahead about who to put in my crew till the game is here. This dev log was actually helpful as I have many tough decisions for who to pick for crew even though I know a few that I know of that for sure that will make the cut.

AGREED .......... As much as I’ve enjoyed all of the “fluff” throughout the many incarnations of Star Trek (in esscence, woman in roles serving primarily as ‘eye-candy’ or love interests), I’ve thoroughly enjoyed women playing strong roles and seeing them strut their “stuff”.

An example is the strong role played by Kate Mulgrew as Captain Katherine Janeway. Even in the following ‘live’ satirical sketch, Janeway exudes strength of character and leadership, ...........even when bombarded with comical sarcasm.

I also love the possibilities opened up by the Trill symbiosis, in terms of gender bending and blending. Jadzia Dax was a great example of a woman who couldn’t be bound by anyone’s expectations of her femaleness, because she’d already been male more than once and knew exactly what they were thinking. I loved that about her!

I thought these female characters were good with good performances especially the character Fleet Admiral Alynna Nechayev which is top notch favorite of mine of Starfleet admirals.

Rear Admiral Brand, Superintendent of Starfleet Academy, TNG episodes “The First Duty” and “Journey’s End”

Flt. Admiral Alynna Nechayev, TNG & DS( episodes TNG:“Journey’s End”, TNG: “Preemptive Strike”, TNG: “Chain of Command, Part I”, TNG: “Chain of Command”, Part II”,TNG: “Descent”,DS9: “The Maquis, Part II”, ” DS9: “The Search, Part II” & DS9: “The Abandoned”

The Trill are an interesting species and Jadzia was (is!) my favourite ST character. I’d love to poke around in her mind, preferably over a cup of steamed raktajino. ^^ So many characters on tv are either/or types - scientists or warriors etc., but she was a brilliant scientist and a bamf with a bat’leth. She - and the Trill in general - blurred the lines in many ways.

DS9 had many great female characters, and the best characters of any ST show if you ask me. They had so many aliens, but in a way DS9 was the most… human ST show.

I like Data so very much because I fell in love with him and I also like Jean Luc Picard because for me he is a teddy bear captain.

I do not think I have ever heard of Picard being referred to as the teddy bear Captain :D
First time for everything!

I have a sweet spot for Data as well!

How about Tam Elbrun and his Tin Man?

Leah Brahms and Kosinski are two more.

How about the Chief Engineer of the Enterprise-D?  Not LaForge, Argyle.
